OnlyPusa
Methodology
How OnlyPusa gathers, reviews, calculates, and presents cat food information.
Last updated August 31, 2026
OnlyPusa organizes cat food information from product labels, product photos, manufacturer or brand materials, retailer listings, regulatory references when available, and community submissions.
We do not perform laboratory testing. The database is for general information and is not a substitute for veterinary advice.
Where product information comes from
Product records may include package details, ingredients, guaranteed analysis, feeding or adequacy statements, calories, variants, market listings, retailer links, product images, and brand information.
Label photos are especially useful because they show what a cat parent can actually inspect on the product package. Brand or manufacturer pages can help fill gaps, but packaging is treated carefully because product information can vary by market, formula, and package size.
How we prioritize sources
When sources disagree, OnlyPusa tries to keep the disagreement visible for review instead of silently merging everything into one answer.
In general:
- Exact package or label information is treated as copied source information.
- Manufacturer-published details are used when they clearly match the same product, formula, market, and variant.
- Retailer listings can help with availability, price, package size, and seller links, but may need confirmation.
- Community submissions are reviewed before they become part of published product data.
Calculated and estimated values
Some values are calculated or estimated from published information. Examples can include dry-matter nutrition views, calorie-related comparisons, feeding-cost context, and nutrition ratio checks such as calcium-to-phosphorus when enough data is available.
OnlyPusa distinguishes between:
| Type | What it means |
|---|---|
| Source information | Text or values copied from a label, brand source, regulator source, or listing. |
| Calculated information | Values derived from available source numbers using a visible rule or formula. |
| Estimated information | A best-effort value when the source data is incomplete or indirect. |
Estimated values should be read with caution. They can be useful for comparison, but they are not the same as a full typical analysis or laboratory result.
Review and verification
OnlyPusa publishes approved product records. Internal review tools support label-photo review, brand evidence review, product images, ingredients, nutrition rows, market listings, and Daily Feeding Fit assessments.
Daily Feeding Fit is a review signal for whether the available evidence supports using a food as a daily diet for cats. It may consider label claims, adequacy statements, life stage, product role, nutrient data, and references such as AAFCO, FEDIAF, or GB/T where those checks are available.
Some product and brand records may also show registration or verification context when that information is available, such as BAI registration details. Absence of a visible registration note does not automatically mean a product is unsafe or unregistered.
What our information does not mean
OnlyPusa does not certify products, approve diets, replace a veterinarian, or guarantee that a product is current, complete, or suitable for every cat.
Manufacturers can change formulas, labels, prices, package sizes, and availability. Always check the current package and ask a veterinarian when your cat has a medical condition, special diet need, or feeding concern.
